Christmas in July challenge

Over on Facebook there is a closed group called Victoria Marie. There is a weekend challenge on there called Christmas in July. So a page on Christmas in the middle of  summer Not everyone's cup of tea! I had a photo I love of granddaughter Chloe taken last Christmas . Chloe was going to a uni Christmas party and they had to dress up. Chloe looks so cute and adorable. The picture had to be scraped, and what better time then now!

drawing practice

Nothing on telly so picked up a pencil and thought I would try to draw . I hope I am getting better at drawing faces. Still having trouble getting the nose right and I would like to get more "Life" into the eyes still, they say practice makes perfect, so best keep practicing then!

mixed media

I am so enjoying getting messy with mixed media and art journaling. And I am so excited that I have booked to go on a retreat next March . We go to Hothrope Hall in the woodlands. I say we has this is a group of lovely ladies I have met via Facebook
. None of us have ever met and the common factor is we all have a scrap-booking kit from Like For Ever. Which is amazing, if you scrapbook and are looking for a kit each month you can't do better then check them out!

the last Edwardian girl and mixed media

This is the last Edwardian girl pattern from the set. I am well started on Christmas cards now.
The next is mixed media. I am really getting into the flow of this now. It's a feeling like being back at school has a little kid, you know, Put on Dads old shirt and those non spill paint pots thick brushes and go for  your life! It is like letting go to my own restrictions. I can be messy, things don't have to be placed here and there just so I can add and add till I'm happy. I can do so much, can't think what else I want to add so walk away and come back add later. My hands are full of paint and glue and other lovely mucky stuff but it washes off. Ok some easier then others but it will wash so I don't care! If my fingers  look like a rainbow well, rainbows are pretty! I can feel the joy in creating that's the whole point! and if people don't see the good in it well, art is a matter of opinion. isn't it? I used modelling paste, paint. Deep impression embossing and beads  and correction fluid on the mixed media. I love both crafts! I love all crafts!. so I am off to scrapbook..Enjoy your day.

Edwardian girls

Two Christmas cards! yes I know its only June but parchment cards take time to make. There is another in the set which I am in the process of making. Judith Maslen is the designer of these and I love her patterns. They are delightful to work. These are coloured with Prismacolour pencils not my fave has they are lovely and creamy but to sharpen they can be a pain! has the leads are so soft.
